Summer at Joo Group: our summer employees cherished the people and the responsibilities

Farewell party for summer employee Sanni from the customer experience team at our Kauniainen office.
With autumn in full swing, Joo’s summer employees have moved on to new adventures. Once again, we had the pleasure of welcoming talented additions to our rentals and customer experience teams across Finland. We asked a few of them what it’s like to work at Joo Group. Above all, their answers focused on two things: the fun and supportive community, and the joy of having meaningful responsibilities.
Laura, summer employee in the rentals team

The biggest lesson I learned was to trust myself and my skills. That’s all thanks to my brilliant Joo colleagues!
Laura made quite the career leap when she joined Joo from a completely different field. She dived head-first into the varied world of apartment rentals, taking part in everything from reservations and key handovers to supporting residents throughout their tenancy.
What she found most interesting was witnessing the entire rental process from start to finish. The variety kept the job engaging, with no two days being the same. Over the summer, Laura’s professional confidence grew enormously.
She also collected plenty of fun memories: bursts of laughter in the office and shared giggles over the adventures and mishaps of the office dogs.
The best thing about Joo?
Definitely the people – both customers and colleagues. Every encounter this summer has been valuable, and I’ve always felt welcome, capable and appreciated.
Sanni, summer employee in the customer experience team

This summer has given me skills that are useful anywhere, in work and in life.
Sanni spent the summer in the customer experience team, answering residents’ questions by phone, email and chat. She also kept our Kauniainen office running smoothly by handling day-to-day practicalities such as sorting the post.
What she enjoyed most was gaining a practical, insider’s look into the world of housing and property management.
"I always used to call my parents whenever an appliance beeped strangely or a tap was leaking. Now I actually know what to do!” she says.
Over the summer, Sanni learned a great deal about customer service, communication and staying calm under pressure. Her English also improved as she had the chance to use it every day.
The best thing about Joo?
The people. Honestly, what an amazing bunch! Coming to the office has always been the highlight of my day, knowing I’ll be greeted by people I can laugh with until I cry, share lunch with, and even chat about work now and then.
Hetastiina and Siiri at the Kivistö office.
Hetastiina, summer employee in the rentals team
Over the summer I learned so much about organisation, prioritising and problem-solving.
During the summer, Hetastiina was responsible for apartments in several locations, as well as covering for other rental representatives during their holidays. The role was wonderfully varied, including everything from viewings and rental management to customer communication.
She enjoyed meeting different residents, visiting a wide variety of homes and managing the entire renting process. She was also pleasantly surprised by how much responsibility the job involved.
The daily lunch breaks are a cherished part of our culture. Like many Joo employees, she has fond memories of those, as well as the Joo summer party.
The best thing about Joo?
The fun colleagues and the variety of work! I got to do so many different things. No two days were alike, and I was never bored.
Siiri, summer employee in the rentals team
Being in the office was fun every single day, but the highlight of the summer was definitely the Joo summer party.
Siiri had her own location to look after for the summer, which made the job both meaningful and rewarding. She hosted apartment viewings, handled reservations and took care of various renting-related tasks.
She loved seeing the whole process from start to finish, and how each day brought something a little different. This gave her the chance to keep learning along the way.
Over the months, Siiri realised that it’s not necessary to know everything immediately, as you learn by doing. Her organisational skills flourished, and she gained valuable experience in customer service and teamwork.
The best thing about Joo?
Without a doubt, the best thing about Joo is the colleagues. As a newcomer, I was welcomed with open arms, and there was always someone ready to help. It’s a joy to come to the office every day when you’re surrounded by such kind, encouraging people.
A big thank-you to all of Joo Group’s summer employees for a wonderful few months – we hope our paths cross again! If you’d like to work at Joo, take a look at our open positions here. If you can’t find a suitable role right now, you’re always welcome to send us an open application.
